DAY 5 - POROS > EPIDAVROS

We left the port and headed to a bay that had a Sunken City. We anchored, had lunch and snorkeled in the shallow water and could easily see the remains of an ancient city that has now been claimed by the sea. The weather was getting even better. Once we got to the port in the next bay we had a quick walk around the town to find ice cream. As usual a lot of the shops were closed. We had moored in a small town called Palaia Epidavros. It is part of mainland Greece, although it had the small island feel. A group of us headed around the bay to a little swimming spot to make the most of the beating sun. Dinner again was Gyros (I went back for seconds that night!). A few more of us headed up a hill that overlooked the town and also had some ancient ruins. The main ruin being the Ancient Epidaurus Little Theatre. Parts of the site are being restored. The history in this country is just unfathomable at times. There was a slight sunset, a few wild dogs and horse.
