Day 1

After leaving Naxos we arrived into Mykonos in the early afternoon. We were picked up by our host and taken up to our suite on the hill. Definitely one of the better views we’ve had! We settled in, rested and enjoyed the sun. We walked down to the beach and despite the wind chill, had a quick swim.

It was obvious we would need another rental car to make the most of Mykonos as we were a good 10 minute drive from the main town. We managed to get one for the following day, but I really enjoyed the area we stayed in. For dinner we walked 5 minutes down to the local, Limnios Tavern - a recommendation from our host. Not only was the food and service excellent, we had a table by the window with killer views. We loved it so much we went back the next night! #bestCheeseCake

Day 2

If the wind wasn’t an issue the day before, it certainly was on our last full day on the island. But we drove into the main town, walked the coble streets and admired the crispy white buildings. Grabbed lunch and then drove around the island to find a beach to swim at. Either it was too windy or it was upwards of 20 euros to sit on the sunbeds. Pass.

After much of the day exploring and braving the wind we headed back to our place (which was perfect for relaxing), drank, ate and watched the sun go down once again. After living in urban London you often forget what the sun looks when it meets the horizon. Dinner was an easy choice, back to the Tavern from the night before!

Day 3

Our last day, which meant our last Greek Gyros. We headed back into town, grabbed lunch then checked out of our suite. Then we made the journey (wasn’t actually that long) across the island to the airport, returned the car and waited at the airport (Mykonos airport is very basic, BYOSnacks). A bit of delay but we eventually got up in the air and I managed to get some snaps of the island from the plane!

A bit sad leaving not knowing when we may come back to such a diverse and interesting country.

I love creating images that speak to me.

I grew up in a small town that nobody really knows about, Levin. Spent a good ten years in Hamilton making some of the best friends anyone could have. And now I’m living, working and playing in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. Also a small country that people have trouble locating – I’m looking at you America!

Life is about stories, and that’s what I love to capture and document. My shooting style is unobtrusive. You may be a natural in front of the camera, or have no idea what to do but before we even start I’ll make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed.

Things I love: Travelling to wherever I can, my partner Monita, homemade burgers, wood fired pizzas, the smell of rain on a hot summers day, mountains, the snow, sunsets and sunrises, star gazing, natural light, the aesthetic of wood, crashing waves and day dreaming.
