DAY 1 - ATHENS > PERDIKA
Greece, a yacht, a week on the water. This was a holiday I was looking forward too. After spending our other trips in Europe’s great cities, it was time for a holiday to chill.
Hot weather and hot water, such a time to be alive. Over dinner one night with some friends, MedSailors came up in conversation. We briefly looked into it, and booked it. We flew to Athens early Saturday morning and made it to the port just in time for departure (cutting it close as usual).
We boarded our yacht and met the rest of the crew. Two more Kiwis, two Aussies and four Brits including our skipper, chef, tour guide, all round good-guy Jamie.
We set of south east for our first stop. Perdika, on the island of Aegina. Perdika is a small fishing village in a little bay. We made it just as the sun was setting and took a short walk around the headland. Appreciating what this week was going to be, we headed back to the yacht for a drink before a group dinner at a local restaurant. Day one done.
