Annecy / France
While doing a ski season in Chamonix for 3 months we didn’t really travel anywhere new. So as the weather become milder and the sun was a tad more present we made a day trip to Annecy. To our surprise, a city as opposed to the small lake side town I had imagined. Perhaps you can compare it to Queenstown? But still very French
We jumped on a bus super early in the morning and got to Annecy as it started to come to life. A few things to see, but first, coffee. We walked around, looked at old things and enjoyed being somewhere different. Sat in sun by the lake and got a good dose of vitamin D, the people watching was pretty good too. The lake itself is one of Europes cleanest lakes and the regulations around keeping it clean are clearly working.
We stumbled across a market and checked out the regular shops, because theres only so many times you can go window shopping in Cham for snowboards and snow gear (unless you’re me, sorry Monita).
Then it was back on the bus, back to Cham and back to window shopping for snowboards.
Enjoy.
I love creating images that speak to me.
I grew up in a small town that nobody really knows about, Levin. Spent a good ten years in Hamilton making some of the best friends anyone could have. And now I’m living, working and playing in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. Also a small country that people have trouble locating – I’m looking at you America!
Life is about stories, and that’s what I love to capture and document. My shooting style is unobtrusive. You may be a natural in front of the camera, or have no idea what to do but before we even start I’ll make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed.
Things I love: Travelling to wherever I can, my partner Monita, homemade burgers, wood fired pizzas, the smell of rain on a hot summers day, mountains, the snow, sunsets and sunrises, star gazing, natural light, the aesthetic of wood, crashing waves and day dreaming.
