Sorrento / Italy

Sorrento, the gateway to the Amalfi Coast. Our time here was eventful to say the least. We arrived in the early afternoon after half a day in Pompeii. Our AirBnb host picked us up from the train station and took us back to her gangsta villa where we’d stay the next two nights. It wasn’t quite in Sorrento as that was beyond our budget but the place was awesome, as was the seclusion.

After settling in, putting on some washing we walked into the small village for that delicious Italian pasta and wine. Stomachs and hearts full.

Taking the bus down the ever winding turns we arrived into Sorrento ready for breakfast and a day out on Capri, or so we thought. As I went to pay for breakfast I noticed I didn’t have my wallet.

Commence freak out.

Tracing the steps back, the only thing that made sense was that it fell out of my pocket. Freak out continues.  After some help from the kindest lady at the info shop, checking a few buses that came into the station and a hour later we get confirmation that it’s on the bus and the driver has it.

Conclude freak out.

I love creating images that speak to me.

I grew up in a small town that nobody really knows about, Levin. Spent a good ten years in Hamilton making some of the best friends anyone could have. And now I’m living, working and playing in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. Also a small country that people have trouble locating – I’m looking at you America!

Life is about stories, and that’s what I love to capture and document. My shooting style is unobtrusive. You may be a natural in front of the camera, or have no idea what to do but before we even start I’ll make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed.

Things I love: Travelling to wherever I can, my partner Monita, homemade burgers, wood fired pizzas, the smell of rain on a hot summers day, mountains, the snow, sunsets and sunrises, star gazing, natural light, the aesthetic of wood, crashing waves and day dreaming.
