Coogee to Bondi
While in Sydney for a wedding we had a few down days to catch up with friends and family and just have a holiday from a holiday. On the Monday we drove and parked in Coogee with the intent to walk 6km north to Bondi beach along the coast.
30 degree heat, one water bottle, inappropriate footwear and insufficient snacks (none) - and so we set off! Despite the heat and constant sweating, the walk is stunning. From Coogee Beach the next stop is the small Clovelly Beach which leads around to Shark Point. An epic limestone stack of rocks jutting out over the water. Due to destruction from a storm part of the walk diverts through the Waverly Cemetery - how appropriate when dying from heat. The next beach stop was Bronte Beach. From here to Bondi is beautiful, and the small Tamarama Beach is almost half between them. Upon approaching Bondi you’ll be greeted with the Bondi Icebergs. The two lap pools built at the end of the beach that are filled via the ocean.
Knowing that walking back would our last mile (3.73 to be exact), we opted for ice cream and an Uber to get back to the car.

I love creating images that speak to me.
I grew up in a small town that nobody really knows about, Levin. Spent a good ten years in Hamilton making some of the best friends anyone could have. And now I’m living, working and playing in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. Also a small country that people have trouble locating – I’m looking at you America!
Life is about stories, and that’s what I love to capture and document. My shooting style is unobtrusive. You may be a natural in front of the camera, or have no idea what to do but before we even start I’ll make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed.
Things I love: Travelling to wherever I can, my partner Monita, homemade burgers, wood fired pizzas, the smell of rain on a hot summers day, mountains, the snow, sunsets and sunrises, star gazing, natural light, the aesthetic of wood, crashing waves and day dreaming.
