8 Days in Morocco

8 Days in Morocco

I remember asking a friend after she returned home from backpacking in Europe what her favourite country was. Without hesitation, Morocco jumped out of her mouth. At the time I didn't realise Morocco was actually in North Africa! It's fair to say I was looking forward to getting there.

We almost missed out on this trip, but we got lucky and managed to get a spot on a 8 day tour across Morocco. We did the tour through Travel Talk as we'd heard good things and it didn't disappoint. Given our possible dates we opted for Adventure Morocco which meant we got to journey throughs mountains, deserts and the coast. Absorbing culture and unforgettable moments along the way.

We had the best group of people. Around 30 or so, with everyone either a Kiwi or Aussie plus an American and a Canadian who were antipodean by the end! Our tour guide, Abdoul, is an absolute legend. Knowledgable, friendly and has a solid joke repertoire.

Life; the earth, the people, the purpose. For many Moroccan people their life is pampering to the many thousands of tourists, for others it’s working the land but the sole purpose remains the same, to provide for their families

I love creating images that speak to me.

I grew up in a small town that nobody really knows about, Levin. Spent a good ten years in Hamilton making some of the best friends anyone could have. And now I’m living, working and playing in the city of Auckland, New Zealand. Also a small country that people have trouble locating – I’m looking at you America!

Life is about stories, and that’s what I love to capture and document. My shooting style is unobtrusive. You may be a natural in front of the camera, or have no idea what to do but before we even start I’ll make sure you’re comfortable and relaxed.

Things I love: Travelling to wherever I can, my partner Monita, homemade burgers, wood fired pizzas, the smell of rain on a hot summers day, mountains, the snow, sunsets and sunrises, star gazing, natural light, the aesthetic of wood, crashing waves and day dreaming.
